July 11, 2020 – COVID-19 Update – No New Cases
July 11, 2020
We are happy to report that our resident and staff member who previously tested positive have officially recovered. We continue to have no new cases of COVID-19 infection in our community.
As you may remember, another part of mitigating the spread of the pandemic is to have a plan for testing residents and healthcare personnel for COVID-19 infection, as many may be free of symptoms and yet may be contagious. Testing for COVID-19 in respiratory specimens can detect current infections and is an important addition to our other infection prevention and control strategies. We will also continue our other infection prevention procedures, as we’ve detailed for you in past communications, in our efforts to continue to protect our vulnerable residents.
We have received our results for the re-testing of all staff and residents on July 1st, and all test results are negative for COVID-19. Our weekly testing this week was completed July 8th. We will report the results once they are received; any newly identified staff and/or residents with positive COVID-19 test results will be reported promptly and if all results are negative we will provide that update in our next communication.
We know you will be eager to learn of the results of our testing plan and may have questions. We will continue to provide updates through this method during this process. Rest assured that if you or your loved one(s) are directly impacted, you will continue to be contacted individually.
Please also remember that the Governor has extended our restrictions on visitations and group interactions within long-term care facilities through July 24th (with Executive Order No. 2020-136). In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and to protect your loved ones we will continue to restrict visitation as we are instructed by the state. We also know how important it is to remain connected with each other and to express love. Feel free to contact us, by phone or email, to schedule video chats, window visits, or phone calls with loved ones.
In order to receive important updates, please make sure we have your current contact information.
